A pillowbear is a word your child invents.
Sam, our son, called every hippopotamus a pillowbear for almost a year. He said quockqworn for popcorn and ducktire for crocodile. Every family has them: the small, perfect, wildly inventive words a child makes up before they learn the grown-up one.
They are the funniest, cleverest thing a child says. Pillowbears is the keepsake made to celebrate them, in their name, in your handwriting.

How it works

The book arrives.
A soft-touch hardcover with a gold-foil cover and 12 sticker sheets, tucked in a cream sleeve, ready to fill.

You apply the sticker that fits.
Each page has a spot for a sticker (a banana, a dog, a hippo). You pick the one that matches what your child means. The order is yours.

You write what they call it.
On the dotted line you write the word your child actually uses. In your own handwriting, it becomes a record worth keeping for good.

Pillowbears is new. We made the first book for our own son, Sam, before we made it for anyone else. So instead of borrowed praise, here is our promise: your keepsake arrives beautifully made, on FSC paper, with the name foiled by hand in Malta. If it ever arrives damaged, we replace it. Once, no questions. We would rather earn your trust with the book in your hands than with a number on a screen.
Our story
It started with Sam.
Pillowbears began as a Mother's Day gift. We made a private book for our family: a dictionary of our son's funny words, typeset like a real book.
The brand name Pillowbears comes from his word for hippopotamus.
His mother's reaction told us everything. Other families should have one too. So we made the version any parent could fill in for their own child, whatever words he or she invents.

When does my book ship?
We are printing a first run of 500. Pre-orders ship first; we write to confirm the exact window after you order.
How does the name on the cover work?
Add the name in gold foil at checkout. We hot-foil it by hand in Malta. Without it, the cover ships with a clean blank name area.
What can I add on?
A foil name, a rigid gift box, a premium pack of 12 more sticker sheets, and a handwritten gift card. Shipping straight to the recipient is free.
Can I gift it?
Yes. Choose ship-to-recipient at checkout and we send it directly, with no prices in the parcel and your handwritten card inside if you add one.
